Reebok Finds Out The Hard Way: There Is No Substitute For a Gym Membership

This post is for everyone who thought you could substitute a shoe for squats, lunges and leg presses. I know its cute to walk around in your tight spandex pants and your Reeboks, but I’m sorry they don’t work.

Reebok has been ordered to pay twenty – five million dollars in recalls! The nice abs Reebok used to promote the Easy Tone line featuring Eva Menedez and Model, Helena Christensen abovioulsy was genius but Reebok also initially advertised that you could increase the strength in your calf, legs, and butt muscles by 11%-18%. The only thing is Reebok couldn’t back it up. There hasn’t been any scienitific data to support Reeboks claims.

David Vladeck, the director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection told WWD, “The FTC wants national advertisers to understand that they must exercise {Ed.note: Ha! Pun intended?} some responsibility and ensure that their claims for fitness gear are supported by sound science.”

Ladies just get the $60 to $100 you spent onReebok Easy Tones back and get some Sketcher Shape UPS to go with those tight Spandex and keep it moving. You know the fellas love to see those fit bodies walking in spandex. Just make sure you pick up Sketchers. lol
